One School One Country

The goal of One School One Country is to encourage cultural exchange and raise the skills profile of students from WorldSkills member countries.

The goal of One School One Country (OSOC) is to encourage cultural exchange and raise the skills profile of students from WorldSkills member countries. The programme pairs students from the host country with other ASEAN competitors – allowing a fantastic exchange of cultures and values, and provides an insight into the skills being represented during the competition.

The programme culminates in a vibrant meeting on the day of the opening ceremony when students welcome the competitors to their schools. Such experience increases awareness about the power of vocational skills in improving lives around the world.

One School One Country was first implemented during the WorldSkills Shizuoka 2007. It was adapted by subsequent host countries, each with their own unique variations:

OSOC Schools (assigned by the Philippine Department of Education) will also get to visit the competition areas on August 26 to 28, 2025 in World Trade Center Metro Manila, Pasay City, as part of the One School One Country Programme.

WorldSkills ASEAN is the largest showcase of professional and technical skills in the ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region and brings the objectives of the WorldSkills movement to Southeast Asia. The skills competition was initiated by an agreement among ASEAN member countries in 1993 and aims to promote and raise skills standards in the ASEAN region to an international level, as well as to motivate youths to develop their skills and knowledge. ASEAN member countries take turns to host the biennial WorldSkills ASEAN Competition.
